Today the world is facing a series of challenges; challenges which can be more easily overcome if we use the power of the human mind and the resources of our civilization. In this, software engineers are in the forefront of people who have to take care of the common good. I believe that many of you have already realized that personal happiness and prosperity go hand in hand with the development of society. In order to be truly successful and to live in a calm and prospering world, we need to take care not only for ourselves, but for everyone around us. I sincerely hope that each of you can make the world a better place through the power of your mind, but also with the morale and spirit you carry.

Principle of Sofia High School of Mathematics
Patron of the round - Prof. Anastas Gerdjikov, DSc, Assoc. Prof. Parvan Parvanov, PhD and Antoan Tonev, PhD
Prof. Anastas Gerdzhikov, Dr. Habil is a Professor in Roman Literature, Doctor of Philology (Ancient and Medieval Literature). He has graduated the Humboldt University in Berlin and has continued his higher education in Austria (1994) and Germany (1997). Prof. Gerdzhikov has been appointed as Deputy Minister of Education and Science (2001-2003), Director of The Scientific Research Fund (2008-2009) and Deputy Rector of The Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” (2010-2011). He is a member of the editorial committee of „Educational and scientific policies strategies” magazine. His teaching career involves lectures in Latin language and authors (public speaking, historiography) and Roman literature. His scientific interests are in the area of Ancient and Medieval Literature, Philosophy and Political Science. He is an author of scientific articles for Bulgarian and foreign magazines and miscellanies, of four monographies, as well as the first Bulgarian translation of Aristotle`s “Politics”. Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” is the oldest higher education institution in Bulgaria. Through the years it has become one of the highest rated scientific centers in the Balkans and a fully developed university at a European level. Currently, it is the biggest and most prestigious scientific research center in Bulgaria. It has 16 faculties with a total of 107 subjects.
Associate Professor Parvanov graduated his Higher education in Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and after that started his academic career. Between 1996 and 1997 he was an assistant in the Advanced mathematics department at Higher School of Transport "Todor Kableshkov", and the following 3 years he was Senior and Chief assistant. During 2000-2001 he was at the position of a Chief assistant in the Mathematics analysis department at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy before returning to his Alma Mater – Sofia University for the next 10 years as a Chief assistant in the Mathematics analysis department at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics. In 2011 he became an Associate Professor at FMI and from 2017 on he is the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics.
Antoan Tonev, PhD graduated The National School for Ancient Languages and Cultures "Saint Constantine-Cyril the Philosopher" in 2004 and Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” with Bachelor’s degree in History in 2008, specializing in Medieval Bulgarian history. In 2010 he got his Masters’ degree from the University on the subject of “Medieval society: politics, ideology and culture”. In 2015 he successfully defended a thesis on “Transition from federate status to Early Medieval state in Europe and the Mediterranean (4th-7th century)” for his Doctorate degree.
