Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics SU is a leading research and educational center in the field of informatics and mathematics. FMI teaches over 2500 students in advanced and priority subjects: Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering and Statistics. FMI has 15 departments and additional supporting units - computer labs, centers. FMI has a strong research and scientific potential and is involved with research teams in many scientific and applied projects: a Scientific Research Fund of Ministry of Education, Innovation Fund and the competitions of the Seventh EU Framework Programme in partnership with leading Bulgarian and foreign software companies. FMI successfully partners and cooperates with related faculties of the Bulgarian and European universities and research units.
