President Sullivan has been a longstanding member of the AUBG community. He came to AUBG twenty years ago, in 1998, and has served as a Professor in Economics, Dean of Faculty, and Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. His teaching and research interests are in the fields of international finance, money and banking, history of economic thought, macroeconomics, the economics of sports and international monetary theory. President Sullivan holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a B.S. in Economics and Political Science from Rice University. In 1991 the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) was established to develop leaders in Southeastern Europe who could make a difference in the rapidly changing region.
