Dear organizers and participants in CodeIT Season 2018/2019 It is my honor and pleasure to congratulate you on behalf of the mathematicians at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences as participants in one of the most authoritative national competitions in Informatics of Bulgaria - CodeIT. The Institute of Mathematics and Informatics of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences is proud of being a pioneer in the development of informatics in Bulgaria. In our institute were created the first Bulgarian electronic calculator, the first Bulgarian computer, the first computing center in Bulgaria. Although my main scientific interests are not directly related to computer science, I feel committed to your work. As a student, I have made it through the whole path to work with computers, starting with writing programs on listings, with punched tapes and cards. In less than 20 years ago I have participated in a team, worked on one of the best supercomputers at that time - the Cray T3E on 64 processors at the Lorans Laboratory in Berkeley. The purpose of the CodeIT competition is not only to broadcast the best young people involved in computer science. During the competition, you will have the opportunity to enrich your knowledge, create new, useful contacts, start new friendships and become future leaders in the field of information technology. We are especially grateful to Musala Soft for their initiatives and care for the growth of young professionals in the field.
Good luck and happy sailing!

Acad. Prof. dr. Veselin Drensky,
Director of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics
of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences

The Bulgarian Academy of Sciences traditionally supports the International Programming Contest CodeIT as we believe in the motivational power of the international acknowledgment of the young programmers. This year we are again excited to have the chance to stimulate the talents in the area of computer technologies as they are the engine for the development of modern science and the progress of our country. I wish to all participants in CodeIT to reach new heights in competitive programming and to never stop following their drive for self-improvement.
