On behalf of the mathematicians and computer scientists at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, I would like to cordially congratulate you as participants in one of the most authoritative and oldest competitions in programming in the world – CodeIT.
For us one of the most important activities in the field of mathematics and informatics is the application of our knowledge and research in the national educational programs and processes on all levels. We are proud to be part of CodeIT from its very first “signal”, given 21 years ago, and believe that as a long-standing partner of Musala Soft, our institute has also contributed to the high professional level of the competition.
The time after the 20th anniversary edition of the competition was filled with hardship and challenges. But we have to consider that for us, as mathematicians, computer scientists and IT specialists, it was easier than the rest to adapt to the new situation, to continue to work effectively, using and developing the new information technologies and to show society again how much we are contributing to it.
Let us look ahead and wish each other health, bright thoughts and dreams come true!

Principal of the Technological School "Electronic Systems", sub-branch of the Technical University – Sofia
Patron of the round - Acad. Prof. D.Sc. Vesselin Drensky, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Stela Stefanova
The academic interests of Acad. Vesselin Drensky are in the algebra field with active use of computer methods in his research. He graduated in Mathematics from Sofia University and defended his doctoral thesis on algebra at the Moscow State University. In 1998 he defended his thesis as a Doctor of Mathematical Sciences, and since 1999 is a professor at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. In 2004 he was elected member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and from 2012 he was an academician. Since 1999 he has been the editor-in-chief of "Serdika Mathematical Magazine" and since 2017 is a Director of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Stela Stefanova graduated from the Higher Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Sofia, Faculty of Radio Electronics, majoring in “Communication Technology” in 1980 and postgraduate qualification as an engineering specialist in “Applied Mathematics”. She defended her doctoral dissertation in 1991. Her research interests are in the field of digital signal processing, optimization, and neural networks.
She won a competition for chief assistant at the Technological School "Electronic Systems" at the Technical University - Sofia in 1993 and was elected associate professor in 2015. She teaches the disciplines "Automation of design in electronics" and "Building and diagnostics of computer networks". Also is head and instructor at Cisco Academy since 2003.
In 1996 she was elected Deputy Principal for Technical Affairs, and then in 2012 she became the Principal of the Technological School "Electronic Systems", sub-branch of the Technical University - Sofia.
