Third round Marathon

Prof. Petar Boyvalenkov, D.Sc., is a graduate of the High School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Dobrich. He graduated in 1989 from Sofia University, majoring in Mathematics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics. Three years later he defended his dissertation "Limits for packaging in Euclidean spaces." Since 2004 he has been a Doctor of Mathematical Sciences. Since 1990 he has been working at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, where he has gone through all stages of development to the present - a professor at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics of BAS, where in March 2021 he was elected director. Prof. Boyvalenkov has many years of teaching practice with reading courses at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", Southwestern University "Neofit Rilski", Plovdiv University "Paisii Hilendarski", New Bulgarian University, Purdue University, Fort Wayne in the USA and others. He has over 100 papers presented at conferences and seminars in more than 20 countries and over 100 publications in magazines and scientific journals. Since 2017 he has been Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Union of Bulgarian Mathematicians. During the period 2014-2018 he was the leader of the Bulgarian national team at the International Mathematics Olympiad. Between 2005 and 2019 he was a member of the National Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science where he was responsible for the organization of student Olympiads.

Veselina Karapeeva was born in 1976. She graduated with a degree in "Mathematics and Informatics" from "Paisii Hilendarski" University of Plovdiv. In 2003 she began teaching informatics at the Mathematics high school "Acad. Kiril Popov" in Plovdiv. Between November 2017 and December 2018 she executed the office of senior expert in professional education and training at the Regional directorate of education - Plovdiv. In December 2018 she was elected Principal of the Mathematics high school "Acad. Kiril Popov". Veselina Karapeeva is a member of the executive board of the Union of Bulgarian Mathematicians.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Stela Stefanova graduated from the Higher Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Sofia, Faculty of Radio Electronics, majoring in "Communication Technology" in 1980 and postgraduate qualification as an engineering specialist in "Applied Mathematics". She defended her doctoral dissertation in 1991. Her research interests are in the field of digital signal processing, optimization, and neural networks. She won a competition for chief assistant at the Technological School "Electronic Systems" at the Technical University - Sofia in 1993 and was elected associate professor in 2015. She teaches the disciplines "Automation of design in electronics" and "Building and diagnostics of computer networks". She is also a director and a teacher at Cisco Academy since 2003. In 1996 she was elected Deputy Principal for Technical Affairs, and then in 2012 she became the Principal of the Technological School "Electronic Systems", sub-branch of the Technical University - Sofia.
