The first round of season 2021/2022 of the International programming competition CodeIT, organized by Musala Soft, has concluded.
The round was a “MARATHON” type and was under the patronage of Prof. Anastas Gerdzhikov – Rector of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", Associate Professor Parvan Parvanov, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and Antoan Tonev, principle of Sofia High School of Mathematics "Paisiy Hilendarski”.
Emil Indjev from Ruse, a computer science student at the University of Oxford took the first place in the general ranking, Alexander Gubica and Dusko Obradovic from Sombor, Serbia took second and third place.
All contestants in competitive programming with non-zero result will receive a T-shirt with this season’s branding. The special prizes in the first round, provided by the competition’s partners Cougar and Prestigio, go to: Denitsa Yankova – a computer keyboard, Dimo Terziev – a computer mouse, Deniz Poturliev – a CodeIT sweatshirt. The prizes will arrive quickly and safely to their new owners thanks to our partners from courier company Speedy.
Expect a date for the second round (Sprint), which will traditionally have a separate group of tasks specifically for Junior participants.

CodeIT (https://codeit.bg/) is one of the oldest programming competitions in the world and the most elite private computer science competition, organized by Musala Soft since the company's inception in 2000.
CodeIT has no age restrictions, but the main group of participants are students with interests in algorithms and competitive programming - many of them medalists from international competitions. The competition takes place annually in 6 preliminary rounds and a final round in partnership with companies, NGOs, IT Associations and the leading educational institutions in Bulgaria.
Honorary Chairman of the Jury is Krassimir Manev, President of the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) for 2014-2017 and President of the European Youth Olympiad in Informatics (eJOI)
According to the rules the competition has six preliminary online rounds, followed by a final in Sofia. The best performers from the preliminary rounds reach the finals - 12 finalists from the general ranking and 5 from the junior ranking for students up to 8th grade inclusive.
