Anton Anastasov is the winner of the 25th season of the international programming competition CodeIT. At an official ceremony attended by Iliana Yotova, Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria, the most outstanding finalists of this year’s edition were awarded.

This year, CodeIT brought together talents from 11 countries, with finalists representing four of them — Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, and Moldova — competing live in Sofia.

"With your knowledge and skills, you seal the success of your countries. Tomorrow, you will take part in making important decisions for their development. The world’s top universities and companies are waiting for you, but never forget the people who held your hand when you tackled complex problems, guided you, and ignited your passion for this science," said Vice President Iliana Yotova in her address to the finalists.

"In the year of the 25th anniversary edition of CodeIT, with Musala Soft becoming part of Avenga, we now have the opportunity to carry the legacy of the competition into a significantly larger global software company. The synergy is natural — CodeIT is an international contest organized from Bulgaria, and Avenga is a global company that values talent and the technological traditions of Bulgaria, and remains committed to developing this community," shared Stanislav Ovcharov, Senior Vice President of Operations at Avenga.

This season’s CodeIT IT Guru was Dusko Obradovic, a teacher at the “Veljko Petrovic” Gymnasium in Sombor, Serbia. The school team he leads is the only one in the world to have participated in all 15 finals of Microsoft’s “Bubble Cup” competition. In 2018, he received a national teaching award, and in 2019 was honored by the Serbian Minister of Education with the Svetosavska Award for his contributions to educating youth. He is a long-standing participant in and ambassador of CodeIT among his students.
